Dance in the Park
On a beautiful summer evening in August, Buckhorn Public Arts presented a performance by Dance Aspen and Violinist Lydia Bain in Paepcke Park. The evening began with music from Aspen Music School as guests arrived and found their picnic spots in the grass. The main performance of Dance Aspen's talented team followed. Over 200 guests of all ages enjoyed the free experience, joining a wide audience of our community together for a memorable evening in Aspen's famed Paepcke Park. A performance Elizabeth herself would have been proud of.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Dance Aspen's vision is for the city of Aspen and the greater Roaring Fork Community to have a thriving resident dance company that cultivates relationships among local artists and other arts organizations through the dedication and collaboration of high caliber performing arts. Dance Aspen believes that through strengthening the local arts presence, that our community will not only fully embody the cultural identity it has been known for, but grow into a uniquely inspiring place to visit and live.
Lydia Bain began her studies of violin, guitar, piano, and voice at the age of four. Growing up in her mother's performing arts school, a renovated brownstone in Brooklyn, New York, she was immersed in rhythms and melodies from around the globe. With the chance to perform at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and various other venues across the city, she was honing her skills for a lifelong career. At the age of 12, she moved to Central Mississippi, where she started playing in local blues, country, and rock establishments. She would sit in with renowned artists and perform in the area's concert halls. Splitting her time between Nashville and Aspen, Ms. Bain has toured both the United States and abroad, working to establish her WorldPop Healing Entertainment show. By delving into various disciplines, she has developed a vision to integrate healing practices into mainstream entertainment.
